JANKPURDHAM: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has said that the House of Representatives election will be held on the date already announced.

Speaking briefly to journalists after observing and offering prayers during the Chhath festival at Ganga Sagar pond in Janakpurdham yesterday evening, Aryal urged everyone to remain confident that the election will take place as scheduled.

He further stated that there is no alternative to holding the election and pledged that complete arrangements for peace and security would be ensured for the polls.

Calling Chhath a symbol of people’s faith in nature, Aryal said the festival has promoted mutual harmony among all classes and communities.

“Its glory and significance are growing day by day,” he added.
