KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has sought updates from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Passports regarding the current status of passport distribution.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, officials from the ministry and the department were summoned to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar on Tuesday to brief the Prime Minister on the situation.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Karki instructed Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, Director General of the Department of Passports Tirtha Raj Aryal, and other officials to ensure that passport services continue smoothly without disruption.
The Secretariat stated that the Prime Minister also directed the concerned authorities to immediately move ahead with alternative plans to prevent any possible shortage of passports in the coming days.
