12 tourists rescued after storm strands boats on Phewa Lake

POKHARA: A rescue team from the Armed Police Force (APF) successfully rescued 12 domestic and foreign tourists who became stranded on Phewa Lake in Pokhara on Saturday afternoon due to a sudden storm.

The incident occurred around 4:30 PM when high winds trapped the tourists while they were boating in surface and paddle boats near Baidam, Pokhara-6.

DSP of the Armed Police Force Basanta Bahadur Singh confirmed that a 10-member APF team deployed from the ‘Phewa Rescue Tower’ at the APF No. 24 Battalion Headquarters quickly intervened and brought everyone safely to shore.

All rescued tourists are reported to be in normal physical condition.
