MYAGDI: The 132 kV Dandakhet-Rahughat Transmission Line Project has achieved 74 percent physical and 72.6 percent financial progress, with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) aiming to complete it within the current fiscal year 2026/27. The Rs 4.72 billion project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the government, will connect hydropower generated from the Myagdi and Rahuganga rivers to the national grid.

Construction, awarded to Larsen & Toubro in February 2022, has been delayed by difficult terrain, landslides, forest clearance procedures, labor shortages, design changes, and slow contractor performance, prompting two deadline extensions with another under consideration.

The Dandakhet substation is 97 percent complete, while the Rahughat substation has reached 75 percent completion. Of the 82 transmission towers, 74 have been erected, and 12.1 kilometers of the 25-kilometer transmission line has been strung. Once operational, the project will facilitate electricity evacuation from existing and upcoming hydropower projects in the region.
