KATHMANDU: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal held a meeting with former President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav on Tuesday.

The meeting was part of Prime Minister Sushila Karki’s directive to hold consultations with various stakeholders to create a conducive environment for the upcoming elections.

Minister Aryal visited Dr. Yadav’s residence in Bagdol, Lalitpur, to inquire about his health and to discuss the political impact of the incidents that occurred on September 8 and 9.

According to the Prime Minister’s private secretariat, the two discussed several political matters during the meeting.

Aryal briefed Dr. Yadav on the government’s ongoing efforts to improve efficiency and transparency in public service and to prepare for the elections in line with the mandate of the Gen Z Movement.

Minister Aryal urged the former president—who he said continues to play a guiding role in society, to encourage all sectors to support the electoral process.

Dr. Yadav appreciated the government’s initiatives to create a favorable environment for elections under PM Karki’s leadership.

He expressed confidence that with the involvement of former Chief Justices and independent figures from society, the government can ensure free and fair elections.
