BHAKTAPUR: CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and CPN (Unified Socialist) senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal held a meeting yesterday.
The two leaders met at Oli’s residence in Gundu and discussed the possibility of party unification and Khanal’s return to the UML.
The talks between Oli and Khanal were positive and that the dialogue among former UML leaders has helped improve relations between them.
Over 100 leaders and cadres from the CPN (Unified Socialist) — including Ram Kumari Jhakri, Kisan Shrestha, Ammar Bahadur Thapa, Gambhir Lal Shrestha, Pitambar Timsina, and Arjun Rai — are preparing to return to the UML.
Discussions are ongoing with legal experts regarding potential legal complications that may arise if provincial and local-level representatives decide to rejoin the UML.
