KABUL: The third round of Afghanistan-Pakistan peace talks in Istanbul collapsed without agreement.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid on November 8 blamed Islamabad for an irresponsible approach, accusing Pakistan of attempting to offload its security responsibilities onto Kabul.
The Islamic Emirate reiterated its pledge not to let its territory be used against any other country but warned it would “firmly defend against any aggression.”
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif admitted the talks failed with no results and confirmed no plans for a fourth round exist.
Separately, Afghan Minister Noorullah Noori cautioned Pakistani officials “not to test the patience of Afghans.”
The failure exposes deeper mistrust and raises the potential for confrontation along the border.
