NEPSE drops by 4.98 points to close at 2,561.08

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a marginal decline today, falling 4.98 points to close at 2,561.08.

Trading activity involved 8,388,373 shares of 338 companies exchanged in 50,626 transactions, totaling NPR 377.86 million. Among the sectoral indices, only Hotel & Tourism, Manufacturing & Processing, Mutual Fund, and Trading showed gains, while all other groups recorded losses.

Shares of Mabilung Energy Limited, Darmakhola Hydro Energy Limited, Sagar Distillery Limited, Himstar Energy Company Limited, Bungal Hydro Limited, Sanvi Energy Limited, Jhapa Energy Limited, and Bandipur Cable Car & Tourism Limited hit the positive circuit limit. On the other hand, Corporate Development Bank recorded the highest losses.

In terms of turnover, Barun Hydropower led the market with NPR 274.04 million worth of shares traded. The market trend indicates cautious investor sentiment amid mixed sector performance.
