CHITWAN: The general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is commencing today in Bharatpur, Chitwan, with all final preparations completed.
A massive, high-tech dome has been constructed at the Guest House ground for the opening ceremony, and the city has been fully decorated to welcome approximately 3,500 local and international delegates.
Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane and other central leaders have already arrived, and the convention will be jointly inaugurated this afternoon by Prime Minister Balendra Shah and Chairman Lamichhane, with various national and international political leaders in attendance.
To ensure smooth logistics, the District Traffic Police will use drones to monitor traffic around the venue, implementing designated parking zones and shuttle services while restricting vehicle access on key connecting roads.
Additionally, a previous dispute regarding the closed session venue has been resolved, securing the Chitwan Association of Industries’ exhibition hall for the event.
The convention will also feature an electronic voting system where delegates will touch candidates’ names and photos to elect a chairman and 99 central committee members.
Nominations are scheduled to begin tomorrow afternoon, with voting concluding the same evening, followed by the selection of party office bearers the next day.
