KATHMANDU: On Sunday, CPN (UML) leader Mahesh Basnet’s vehicle was targeted in an attempted red color attack on the Airport Road in Biratnagar while he was traveling towards Sunsari.

District Police Office Morang SP Kabit Katwal confirmed the incident and said that police have detained two youths for their alleged involvement.

The SP claimed the youths attempted to throw the color but failed to stain the vehicle. Following the incident, Basnet continued his scheduled journey towards Itahari.
