KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Gorkhas defended a modest 142, defeating Chitwan Rhinos by 53 runs at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur. Chitwan were bowled out for 89 in 17.2 overs.
Kathmandu’s innings started poorly, losing three early wickets for 24 runs. Milind Kumar (38) and John Simpson (60 off 29 balls) stabilized the innings with a 98-run partnership, but a late collapse restricted the team to 142.
Sohail Tanvir took 4 for 25, supported by Ranjit Kumar, Kamal Airee, and Ravi Bopara.
Chitwan struggled throughout their chase. Early wickets and a climbing required run rate left no batter in rhythm.
Dev Khanal and Kushal Malla top-scored with 21 each, but the side fell short at 89, handing Kathmandu a comfortable win.
