KATHMANDU: Durga Prasai, the coordinator of the “Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizens Protection Grand Campaign.” has been arrested. Medical entrepreneur Prasai was taken into custody by police at the gate of Pokhara International Airport.

According to Kaski District Police Chief and Superintendent of Police Nabin Karki, Prasai had gone to Pokhara to attend a gathering of his group. “He has been arrested and preparations are underway to send him to Kathmandu,” Karki told Nepal News.

On Sunday, the Election Commission filed a complaint against Prasai with the Cyber Bureau. Prasai had made statements alleging that a sum of Rs 520 million was involved in influence-peddling during the resolution of a dispute related to the official recognition of the Nepali Congress’ special general convention.
