LALITPUR: Spokesman of the Nepali Congress (NC) and coordinator of the Central Publicity Committee for the House of Representatives election, Dev Raj Chalise, has stated that the country should not be made a laboratory for political manoeuvring.
Addressing a press conference organised by the party today at its central office in Sanepa to provide information regarding the March 5 House of Representatives election, he expressed the view that the country should not be made a laboratory in the guise of searching for new names.
“A reliable leadership is necessary for the country’s development, the protection of citizens’ rights, and freedom. In the current situation, decisions must be made even more cautiously.
Citizens’ votes are the foundation of change, and it is necessary to use them by voting for responsible representatives.
Voting is not like choosing vegetables when shopping; one must choose a trustworthy leader very carefully to shape their own and the country’s future. This time, let us all be aware of that,” said spokesperson Chalise.
He informed that his party is preparing its election manifesto according to public expectations and that the document would adopt an approach in which everyone would feel ownership of it.
The NC spokesman urged for a restrained, organised and civilized election campaign and requested that the party’s flag be used in campaigning only according to the code of conduct.
He stressed that the Nepali Congress is alert so that there is no violation of the election code of conduct during the party’s election campaigning.
