KATHMANDU: One person died in a motorcycle accident in Barju Rural Municipality-2 last night.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka of Sunsari, the deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Jayakrishna Yadav, a resident of Biratnagar Metropolitan City–14.

The motorcycle, bearing registration number Province 1–04–002 Pa 565, was traveling from Biratnagar toward Belaha when it reportedly went out of control and crashed into an electric pole.

Yadav, who sustained serious injuries in the accident, died during treatment, police confirmed.

The damaged motorcycle has been kept at the Area Police Office in Sitaganj, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing. Police suspect that overspeeding and lack of attention to the road may have caused the accident.
