Five girls aged between 10 to 13 years drowned in a pond this noon at Laxmipur of Mukhiyapatti Musaharmaniya Rural Municipality of Dhanusha district.

The deceased have been identified as Laxminiya (12), daughter of Paltu Yada; Chandra Kumari (10) daughter of Jogindra Bhagat; Manju (13) daughter of Rajgir Purve; Chandani (12), daughter of Jagarnath Thakur and Lalita (12), daughter of Uttim Saha. 

According to the Dhanusha District Police Office, the girls who had gone to take bath in a local pond drowned around 12:00 today.
