KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been elected as the parliamentary party leader of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP). The decision was made at Kathmandu’s Parisdanda on Sunday during a meeting of the members of the House of Representatives elected from the party in the March 5 polls.
In the parliamentary elections held on March 5, the NCP won a total of 17 seats, securing eight through direct elections and nine through proportional representation.
Dahal, who had won from Gorkha in 2022, this time chose to contest from Rukum East, a constituency with strong Maoist support.
