KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) remained red today (Monday), the second trading day of the week. After falling by 71.05 points on Sunday, NEPSE decreased by another 47.71 points on Monday. Decreasing by 1.65% compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE shrank to the 2,831.39 level.
On this day, the Sensitive Index also fell by 7.90 points to stop at the 481.58 level. On a percentage basis, this is 1.61% lower compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the Float Index decreased by 1.62%, while the Sensitive Float Index also moved downward by 2.55%.
In the share market on Monday, at least 31,606,717 units of shares were bought and sold through 159,328 transactions of 341 companies. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 12.966 billion occurred on Monday. On Sunday, however, a turnover of Rs 15.033 billion had taken place.
Only the share prices of 26 companies increased in NEPSE today. While the share prices of 237 companies moved downward, the share prices of five companies remained stable. Among the 13 groups traded in NEPSE on Monday, all groups were under the ‘red line.’ On Sunday as well, the sub-indices of all groups had decreased.

Accordingly, the index of the Commercial Bank group moved downward by 1.86%, Development Bank by 1.24%, Finance by 2.00%, Hotels and Tourism by 1.18%, Hydropower by 1.93%, and the sub-index of the Investment group by 1.59%.
Similarly, the index of life insurance decreased by 1.40%, manufacturing and processing by 0.21%, the microfinance group by 1.30%, mutual funds by 0.98%, non-life insurance by 1.82%, others by 2.13%, and the trading group by 2.56%.
A positive circuit was hit in the share prices of four companies in NEPSE on Monday. Those hitting the positive circuit include Reliance Spinning Mills, Bhujung Hydropower, Ridge Line Energy, and Hotel Forest Inn. That is, the investors of these four companies earned 10%.
Similarly, the investors of Solu Hydropower suffered a loss of 7.79%.
On the basis of transaction amount, the highest turnover of Rs 684.1 million occurred for Ridi Power Company today. Yesterday as well, the transaction of Ridi Power was the highest. Yesterday, a transaction of Rs 711.1 million for Ridi had occurred.
Likewise, on the basis of the number of shares traded, the highest number of shares of Ridi Power itself, 1,779,539 units, were bought and sold. Yesterday as well, 1,876,921 units of Ridi’s shares were bought and sold. Today, its final transaction price remained at Rs 378 per unit.
