KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 16 people in possession of illegal drugs from different places of Nepal.

According to the Central Police Newsroom, two people were arrested from Mitranagar, Gongbu, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26, one from Radhakrishna Tol, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-13, Dang, one from Kauwapur, Lamkichuha Municipality-4, one from Semarha, Rohini-4, Rupandehi, and one from Chhipagaan, Ward No. 6 of the same municipality.

Similarly, one person was arrested from Futha, Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-2, Bardiya, one from Dipuchok, Gauradaha Municipality-1, Jhapa, three from Mechipul, Bhadrapur Municipality-5, Jhapa, one from Kakarbhitta Bus Park, Mechinagar Municipality-6, Jhapa,and one from Urlabari Municipality-7, Morang.

Three residents of Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality, Dhankuta, were arrested  by a police team from Mulghat Police Post together with 44 kilograms of marijuana.

It is reported that cash was also recovered from some of the accused. They were arrested on Thursday.
