KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has accelerated its campaign to remove structures built by encroaching on public land. As a result, the landscape along the Dhobikhola riverbank in Anamnagar has significantly changed.

Structures that had long been illegally occupying the area and violating river standards have been demolished using heavy equipment, leaving the area open and largely cleared. With the removal of these buildings, the flow area of the Dhobikhola River now appears wider, and sufficient space has been created for the expansion of the corridor road.

Currently, work is underway to clear the debris left by the demolitions and further organize the riverbank.

Take a look at the drone view of the Anamnagar riverbank after the demolition drive.
