PALPA: Two people have died after drowning while swimming in the Kaligandaki River.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhim Lal Bhattarai from the District Police Office, 14-year-old Shishir Gaha and 24-year-old Pujan Gaha from Shikhardanda lost their lives after drowning in the Kaligandaki River at Mandrang in Bagnaskali Rural Municipality-6 on Thursday evening.
According to him, both went missing after drowning while swimming.
During a search operation conducted with the help of the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and local residents, their bodies were found earlier today (Saturday) in the lower section of the Kaligandaki River.
Bhattarai stated that Shishir’s body was found at the incident site itself, while Pujan’s body was recovered at Tipuwaghat.
The search operation had faced difficulties due to the turbid and muddy water in the river.
