KATHMANDU: The Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that Nepal is currently under the influence of westerly and local winds, along with a low-pressure system in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region of the country.

According to the Division, most parts of the Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces, as well as other hilly and mountainous regions, are generally cloudy at present.

The remaining parts of the Terai are experiencing partly cloudy conditions. Light rainfall is currently occurring in some places of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, as well as other provinces, while the remaining Terai areas will see partly cloudy skies.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in some places of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and in a few locations of other provinces.

There is also a chance of snowfall in some high-altitude areas. Similarly, tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions including Koshi Province, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy conditions.

Moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is likely at some places in Koshi Province, as well as in a few hilly and mountainous areas of Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Light rainfall with thunder and possible snowfall is expected at one or two places in the mountainous regions of other provinces.
