KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said Nepal is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system, local winds, and a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region of the country.

Due to its impact, generally cloudy conditions have been observed in the Himalayan regions of Koshi Province as well as Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the remaining areas are experiencing partly cloudy weather.

This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions across the country are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the Tarai region will see partly cloudy skies.

Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely at some places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and other provinces.

There is also a possibility of snowfall in higher elevations. A few places in the Tarai region may witness light rain with thunder and lightning.

Tonight, generally cloudy weather is expected in Koshi Province and the country’s mountainous regions, while the rest of the country will remain partly cloudy.

A few places in Koshi Province may receive moderate rainfall with thunderstorms. Meanwhile, one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Madhesh and other provinces may experience light rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall.
