Scotland set 244-run target for Nepal in ICC CWC League 2 clash

KATHMANDU: In the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 match, Scotland posted a competitive total of 243 in 50 overs against Nepal after opting to bat first.

Scotland cricket team were anchored by George Munsey, who top-scored with 75 off 62 balls, hitting 12 fours and two sixes in a fluent innings before falling to Sandeep Lamichhane.

Contributions from Michael English (34 not out), Michael Leask (29), and Michael Watt (24 off 18) helped Scotland recover in the middle and death overs after a brief collapse in the top order.

Nepal’s bowling attack was led by Sandeep Lamichhane, who starred with 4 wickets for 41 runs, applying pressure through the middle overs.

Karan KC and Nandan Yadav picked up two wickets each, while the rest of the attack kept things relatively tight on a slow surface.

Nepal national cricket team now face a target of 244 runs in the second innings as they begin their chase after the break.
