KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has officially opened the online application process for students seeking scholarships to study in Grades 11 and 12 for the upcoming 2026/27 academic session.
According to an urgent notice issued by the Education Department, the scholarship program is specifically targeted at students who appeared in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in April and have successfully received their grades.
This initiative aims to support qualified students in pursuing their higher secondary education within institutional schools operating under the metropolitan area.
Eligible candidates are required to submit their applications through the city’s official online portals at kathmandu.gov.np or entrance.kathmandu.gov.np.
The application window is scheduled to open at 10:00 AM on May 15 and will remain active until 11:59 PM on May 24.
Selection for the scholarship slots will be determined through a formal examination conducted by the Metropolitan City to ensure a merit-based distribution of the available financial aid.
The notice, signed by Departmental Head Namaraj Dhakal, further clarifies that comprehensive details regarding the scholarship guidelines and examination procedures are attached to the primary document and available on the KMC website.
