KATHMANDU: Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has proceeded with House of Representatives proceedings despite strong opposition from rival parties.

Following a disruption in the day’s first session, Speaker Aryal adjourned the meeting for 15 minutes before choosing to push through the agenda despite the continuing protests.

Even as opposition lawmakers stood up from their seats and rushed to the well (rostrum) to protest, the Speaker continued to steer the session forward.

Amidst the chaos, on behalf of Prime Minister Balendra Shah, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam presented a proposal to approve the election-related ordinance.

Currently, opposition parties are gathered at the well, chanting slogans to disrupt the proceedings.
