KATHMANDU: Nine foreign nationals have been arrested in the Thamel area for allegedly engaging in obscene activities and harassing both foreign and domestic tourists as well as local men.

A police team deployed from the Lainchaur Police Circle arrested them from Ward No. 26 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City in Thamel.

According to a statement issued today (Thursday) by Kathmandu District Police spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, the individuals were apprehended while allegedly obstructing tourists and members of the public on the streets, engaging in obscene behavior, and bargaining for sexual activities, causing disturbance and harassment in the area.
