KANCHANPUR: The District Police Office Kanchanpur has arrested a man convicted in a high-profile homicide case after he remained absconding for nearly a year following a final court verdict.

The arrest was made as part of an ongoing targeted campaign by Nepal Police to locate fugitives and enforce outstanding judicial sentences across the country.

According to a police bulletin issued today, police arrested individual as 33-year-old Sewaraj Rana, also known as Senraj, of Laljhadi Rural Municipality-1, Nauranga in Kanchanpur District. Acting on specific intelligence regarding his location, a specialized police team tracked him down and successfully detained him.

Authorities said Rana has been taken into custody and will be presented before the Kanchanpur District Court to serve the sentence mandated by the verdict. Police added that such operations will continue as part of efforts to ensure enforcement of court decisions and apprehend absconding offenders.
