KAPILVASTU: Thirty-eight people were injured when a passenger bus (Karnali Province 02-001 Kha 1266) heading from Kathmandu to Surkhet lost control and overturned on the Taulihawa-Bahadurgunj postal road section in Maharajgunj Municipality-4 early Tuesday morning around 3:55 AM.

Among the injured, who include the driver and helping staff, two are in critical condition, 19 are in moderate condition, and 17 sustained minor injuries.

Following the accident, police and ambulances rescued the victims and rushed them to Kapilvastu District Hospital, from where they were all later referred to Bhairahawa for further treatment.

According to District Traffic Police Office Kapilvastu, a formal investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.
