KATHMANDU: The governments of Switzerland and Nepal signed an agreement supporting Nepal’s Transitional Justice Trust Fund, reaffirming bilateral cooperation on accountability, reconciliation, and inclusive justice linked to Nepal’s peace process.

The agreement was signed by Danielle Meuwly, Ambassador of Switzerland to Nepal, and Dhaniram Sharma, Joint Secretary at Nepal’s Ministry of Finance, in the presence of Markus Leitner, Head of the Asia and Pacific Division at Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).

According to officials, the Swiss contribution will support survivor-centered transitional justice initiatives, including psychosocial counseling and institutional capacity-building.

The agreement reflects Switzerland’s continued backing of Nepal’s post-conflict peace and reconciliation efforts and its commitment to strengthening long-term trust and sustainable peace in the country.
