KATHMANDU: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers drafted the Public Servants Vehicle Management Directive, 2026 to provide interest-free transport credit to government staff.

Under the financing model, Chief Secretaries and Secretaries can access maximum four-wheeler procurement loans of up to Rs 6 million with a 100 percent interest subsidy, while Joint Secretaries qualify for Rs 5 million and Under Secretaries receive Rs 4 million.

Section Officers can access Rs 400,000 for two-wheelers.

The loans feature a 20-year maturity window, with employees managing all maintenance expenses independently.
