KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has stated that the government under his leadership is fully committed to elevating the daily living standards of Nepali citizens in a real and tangible manner.

During a joint meeting held today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers with ambassadors and heads of missions from the European Union (EU) and its member states based in Kathmandu and New Delhi, as well as ambassadors from other nations stationed in Kathmandu, he expressed that he is fully aware of the urgency of the present moment and the profound responsibility entrusted to them.

According to Deepa Dahal, Press and Research Expert to Prime Minister Balendra Shah, the Prime Minister clarified during the meeting that the results of the recently concluded elections in Nepal have given a clear and decisive mandate for good governance and inclusive economic prosperity, emphasizing that policy continuity will remain despite the formation of the new government.

“Being new does not mean completely severing ties with the past,” Prime Minister Shah said. “We are fully committed to protecting democratic values and maintaining political stability while ensuring that Nepal’s policy direction remains clear, stable, and predictable.”

He reiterated that the government under his leadership is committed to good governance and the inclusive growth of Nepal’s economy. He added that the government wishes to benefit from the global market to create new opportunities for the people, and is dedicated to achieving sustainable development, encouraging innovation, and further streamlining procedures to attract broad investments.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Shah clarified that Nepal will continue to adopt a balanced and pragmatic foreign policy. “Our relations with our neighbors, development partners, and friendly nations are guided by the principles of mutual respect, sovereign equality, and shared prosperity,” he said.

Expressing his gratitude to all of Nepal’s development partners and friendly nations for their continuous goodwill and support toward Nepal’s development and prosperity, he made it clear that Nepal is actively working to collaborate and further strengthen partnerships in trade, investment, green energy, climate change, tourism, and other key sectors.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shah also pointed out that while conflicts continue to impact various parts of the world, ordinary citizens are the ones suffering the most. He emphasized that dialogue, diplomacy, and international law must take priority over military confrontation to establish peace.

On the occasion, the ambassadors from the European Union based in Kathmandu and New Delhi, along with other ambassadors stationed in Kathmandu, commended Nepal for successfully conducting peaceful elections. They also congratulated Prime Minister Shah on leading the new government with a mandate for good governance, economic development, and prosperity, expressing their readiness to collaborate and invest in various sectors for Nepal’s economic growth and prosperity.
