KATHMANDU: The government has unveiled a broad industrial reform package in the federal budget for fiscal year 2026/27, including additional concessional loans for women entrepreneurs, lower electricity tariffs for industries, and private-sector management of Motipur and Mayurdhap industrial zones.

Presenting the budget in Parliament, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle said women-led businesses will receive priority in Special Economic Zones (SEZs), while a single-window system will be introduced to simplify tax, customs, and investment procedures.

The government also announced that industries operating on leased land in industrial areas and SEZs will be allowed to use their built structures as collateral for bank loans.
