KATHMANDU: A total of 14,057 students have passed the scholarship selection examination conducted by Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

According to the decision by the Scholarship Examination Committee, the results have been published along with the initial merit list of candidates who secured a minimum of 40 marks.

This scholarship is for studying in Grades 11 and 12 for the academic session 2026/2027 in institutional (private) educational institutions operating under the metropolitan city.

To view the results, arrangements have been made for students to view, download, and print their scorecards by entering their roll number, date of birth, and password (received on their mobile/email) on the online form-filling portal.

According to Education Officer and Coordinator of the Examination Committee, Namaraj Dhakal, this is an initial result. If anyone is dissatisfied with the result, a period has been provided to submit an application for re-totalling within office hours by June 3, 2026.

Following this, the final merit list will be published. The institutional matching and student nomination/recommendation process will only begin after the publication of the final merit list.

Dhakal stated that the highest score obtained in the exam is 92 marks, secured by one student. Similarly, the second highest score is 91 marks, achieved by one student. In the third position, five students secured 90 marks.

If dissatisfied with the published results, an application can be submitted to the Department of Education by June 3 along with a copy of the admit card and after depositing a revenue fee of Rs 1,000.

Similarly, it has been mentioned that if details like name or gender differ on the form, or if a student applied for a reservation category they do not qualify for and the form was approved, they can submit an application with supporting documents by June 3 to remove that category (adding a category is not allowed).

The notice for selecting students to study under the scholarship program was published on April 16, 2026.

The examination for the scholarship was conducted across 83 centers. Out of 26,888 students who applied through the online system—comprising 16,549 males, 10,333 females, and 6 others—the applications of 26,603 students were approved.

Among the approved applicants, 22,020 students participated in the examination.
