KATHMANDU: Gyanendra Shahi, the parliamentary party leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has launched a scathing attack on the party’s top leadership following General Secretary Dhawal Shamsher Rana’s announcement of a new political movement outside the party.

In a fierce social media post, Shahi expressed deep frustration over the devastating internal rift, stating that the youth and grassroots workers are completely exhausted by the senior leadership’s continuous infighting.

“It seems working together is simply not in your DNA,” Shahi wrote, targeting the senior leadership. “We, the youth, are completely disgusted by your ego battles. Party workers are fighting each other, taking sides. Do you not feel even a shred of shame?”

The outburst follows Rana’s decisive move to break away and launch his own movement, pushing the prominent right-wing party into a major crisis.

Shahi strongly criticized both factions—the establishment clinging to power and the breakaway dissidents—for shattering party unity over personal ambitions.

“This is a time for unity, not for trading allegations and breaking apart,” Shahi added. “One refuses to step down despite facing defeats across the country, while another wants leadership without even contesting an election. Why is there so much greed for posts and ego?”

Shahi warned that the public posturing and political “drama” have shattered the morale of dedicated party workers and destroyed the trust of the youth.

In a bold move, the parliamentary leader openly challenged the feuding top leaders to face him directly instead of tearing the organization apart.

“If you have the courage, let’s sit down together—just the three of us. Let’s have an honest discussion. If not, why continue this drama? Just to project yourselves as gentlemen? Even God must be tired of your conspiratorial politics,” Shahi concluded.

The RPP leadership has yet to officially respond to Shahi’s public challenge, but the development highlights a catastrophic generational and ideological split within the party.
