KATHMANDU: An absconding defendant involved in a banking offense case has been arrested. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) apprehended Shankar Lal Agarwal, a permanent resident of Kathmandu Metropolitan City–4, from Dillibazar today.
Agarwal had been absconding since the date of the verdict in a case under the Banking Offenses and Punishment Act, 2064 (2008), in which Deepak Bhatta is also named as a co-defendant.
Spokesperson for the Bureau and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anupam Shamsher Rana informed that Agarwal has been presented before the Patan High Court for necessary legal action.
