NEPSE increases by 2.66 points with Rs 5.738 billion turnover

KATHMANDU: On the third trading day of the week today (Wednesday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) increased by a single digit. The trading volume has also increased.

The NEPSE increased by 2.66 points on Wednesday. Increasing by 0.09 percent compared to the previous trading day, the NEPSE stopped at 2780.25 points today.

On this day, the sensitive index also increased by 1.93 points and stopped at 475.44 points. In terms of percentage, this is 0.40 percent higher compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 0.21 percent, and the sensitive float index increased by 0.38 percent.

In the stock market on Wednesday, at least 13,521,619 shares of 347 companies were bought and sold in 62,148 transactions. According to this, a turnover of Rs 5.738 billion took place on Wednesday.

A turnover of Rs 5.265 billion had taken place in NEPSE on Tuesday, while a turnover of Rs 5.614 billion had taken place on Monday.

The share prices of 149 companies increased in the stock market today. While the share prices of 116 companies went down, the share prices of six companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded in NEPSE today (Wednesday), the indices of seven groups increased while the indices of the remaining six groups went down.

According to this, the index of the Commercial Bank group decreased by 0.13 percent on Wednesday, the Development Bank group increased by 0.66 percent, while the index of the Finance group decreased by 1.16 percent.

Similarly, the Hotels and Tourism group increased by 0.18 percent, while the Hydropower group decreased by 0.11 percent, and the index of the Investment group decreased by 0.20 percent.

Likewise, life insurance increased by 1.73 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.42 percent, microfinance by 0.45 percent, mutual funds by 0.01 percent, and the index of the non-life insurance group increased by 3.37 percent. Similarly, the sub-indices of Others increased by 2.36 percent, and the Trading group increased by 0.24 percent.

While the investors of Kalinchowk Hydropower earned 14.99 percent in NEPSE on Wednesday, the investors of Nepal Re-Insurance Company lost 5.18 percent of their share price.

In terms of trading volume, Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company remained at the forefront today as well. On Wednesday, a turnover of Rs 442.3 million of Ankhu Khola took place.

A turnover of Rs 467.6 million of Ankhu Khola had taken place on Tuesday, while a turnover of Rs 430.4 million of Ankhu Khola had taken place on Monday.

Similarly, Ankhu Khola itself remained ahead in terms of the number of shares traded today as well. On Wednesday, at least Rs 988,177 worth of shares of this company were bought and sold.

Around Rs 1 million shares of this company were bought and sold on Tuesday, while Rs 997,531 shares of this company were bought and sold on Monday. Its final trading price today was maintained at Rs 440 per share.
