GAIGHAT: Along with the changes in the monsoon, life has begun to be affected due to the excessive heat over the past few days in various parts of the Udayapur district, including Triyuga.

With the onset of extreme heat, it has become difficult to walk around for various chores and go cattle herding during the afternoon. School teachers have reported incidents where students are fainting and collapsing inside classrooms during classes due to the hot wind blowing because of the intense heat.

According to Devi Prasad Dhungana, a local from Triyuga Municipality-1, Jogidaha Bargachhi, the extreme heat over the past week has made it difficult to go to the forests and hills to graze cattle during the day.

Dhungana says, “Until a week ago, we used to take our cattle to the forest for grazing at 11 AM, but now that the heat has increased excessively, we take them to the forest early in the morning.” Umanath Khanal from Jogidaha Kang Khola mentioned that since it has become impossible to go out during the day for collecting grass, firewood, or farm work due to the heat, people are forced to spend their days sitting in the shade around their houses.

Hom Bahadur Karki, a 70-year-old elderly resident of Triyuga Municipality-11, Gaighat Shanti Nagartol, said, “As the heat has increased tremendously over the past few days, I haven’t been able to walk around, and meetings with my friends have practically stopped.”

According to Devika Dahal, a teacher at Satyadevi Secondary School in Triyuga Municipality-3, Bhulke, students are fainting and collapsing in classrooms due to the extreme heat. According to meteorologists, the temperature in the Triyuga region has started reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius over the past week.

Ramesh Lal Sah, a local businessman, stated that due to the excessive heat, even the Gaighat bazaar area looks almost deserted during the day.
