NEW DELHI: In a significant diplomatic opening, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shisir Khanal, commenced his official visit to India today by holding high-level talks with India’s National Security Advisor (NSA), Ajit Doval.
According to officials familiar with the development, the meeting focused extensively on deepening bilateral ties, advancing shared strategic interests, and expanding security cooperation between the two neighboring nations.
The discussions underscored the commitment of both governments to strengthen institutional engagement across multiple frontlines, particularly in border management, intelligence sharing, and maintaining regional stability.
Minister Khanal’s early meeting with India’s top security official signals that cross-border security and strategic alignment remain high-priority items on the bilateral agenda during his itinerary in the Indian capital.
Further bilateral meetings with high-ranking Indian dignitaries, including External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, are expected to follow as the Foreign Minister’s visit progresses.
