BARA: The spiny babbler (Kande Bhyakur)—a rare bird species found exclusively in Nepal—has been recorded in Madhesh Province for the very first time.

Previously, documentation of this unique avian species was limited to Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

This recent sighting officially confirms that its habitat extends into Madhesh as well.

The discovery occurred during a bird-watching expedition in the Chure forest area near the Dudhaura River, located in Jitpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City-22 of the Bara district.

The specific environment where the bird was located sits at an altitude of 443 meters above sea level.
