CHANDIGARH: Debutant spinner Manav Suthar starred with figures of 6 for 33 as India secured the biggest Test victory in their history, defeating Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs in the one-off Test.
After declaring on 564 for 8, India bowled Afghanistan out for 152 in their first innings before enforcing the follow-on. The visitors fared little better in their second attempt, collapsing for 112 despite Sediqullah Atal’s 42.
Suthar’s six-wicket haul set up the dominant win, while Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav shared seven wickets in the second innings to seal victory on the third day.
