KATHMANDU: A severe heatwave continues across country’s southern plains, with Khajura of Banke recording the country’s highest temperature at 40.1°C today at 3 PM, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
The MFD reported that rising temperatures are affecting large parts of the Tarai region, with intense daytime heat particularly felt in areas of Sudurpashchim, Lumbini, Gandaki, and Bagmati provinces.
Authorities say the scorching conditions are expected to persist as hot and dry weather dominates much of the southern belt.
