KATHMANDU: During Thursday’s House of Representatives session, CPN (UML) lawmakers raised concerns regarding public service disruption and social media misinformation.

MP Laxmi Prasad Pokharel demanded the government revoke its two-day weekend policy, arguing that while it benefits salaried government employees, it severely inconveniences citizens seeking public services.

He urged the government to return to the traditional one-day weekend system to ensure smoother administrative operations.

Meanwhile, MP Yashoda Baral called for swift action against individuals spreading a viral, fraudulent social media poster that falsely claims UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has become a member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), demanding accountability for those responsible for the misinformation.
