CHITWAN: Addressing the opening session of the Rastriya Swatantra Party’s (RSP) first general convention in Chitwan, Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane confidently asserted that the nation is secure under their leadership while extending an olive branch to traditional political forces.

“The nation is in RSP’s hands, and the nation is safe,” Lamichhane told the gathered delegates and guest politicians. He noted that changing political circumstances have elevated the RSP into the country’s most powerful political force.

Concurrently, Lamichhane pushed back against critics who accuse the newer political force of undermining Nepal’s political history.

He made it clear that the RSP respects the struggles that came before them. “We do not dismiss past movements; we do not have the audacity or arrogance to do so,” Lamichhane stated. “Instead, we are fully dedicated to institutionalizing and advancing the achievements gained through those historic struggles.”

The RSP Chairman concluded by emphasizing that the party remains strictly committed to upholding the principle of the separation of powers, respecting the Constitution, and ensuring its provisions are fully implemented.
