APF rescues 14 trapped women and girls from Bagmati River in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT: A team from the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal has safely rescued 14 local women and girls trapped at Matsari Ghat in Durga Bhagwati Rural Municipality-3, Rautahat.

On Sunday afternoon at 3:40 PM, a group of 11 women and three girls were returning after harvesting moong dal (black gram). They found themselves stranded on a high patch of land in the middle of the Bagmati River at the ghat and were calling out for help.

According to Police Deputy Superintendent Prem Sagar Bishta of the APF Base Camp in Gaur, a 17-member rescue team led by APF Senior Deputy Inspector Yagya Bahadur Yonjan deployed a rubber boat to successfully rescue everyone trapped in the river.

The Armed Police Force stated that all the rescued individuals have been safely escorted back to their respective homes.
