CHITWAN: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is finalizing preparations to elect its new Central Committee later tonight during its first general convention in Chitwan, with 384 candidates contesting the seats.

Following a final schedule revision, a brief silent period is currently underway ahead of the voting, which is scheduled to start at 8:30 PM using 80 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

Delegates have already completed mock trials to familiarize themselves with the electronic system, with individual voting expected to take 10 to 15 minutes.

The election commission plans to begin counting and declare the final results within two hours of the polls closing, clearing the way for the subsequent election of the party’s central office-bearers.
