KATHMANDU: Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has deferred the House of Representatives meeting for the third consecutive time, rescheduling it for Sunday at 11:00 AM through a formal notice by the Parliament Secretariat.

While the Secretariat officially cited “special reasons” for the delay, the postponement is tied directly to the ongoing general convention of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Bharatpur, Chitwan.

The event, which began on June 21, has run longer than anticipated.

As the RSP holds a commanding 182 out of 275 seats in the lower house, the widespread absence of its lawmakers left parliament unable to function, forcing today’s 1:00 PM session to be pushed back once again.
