CHITWAN: Sobita Gautam was elected vice chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) after securing 789 votes in the party’s office bearers election on Friday.
Gautam defeated her closest rival, Dr Toshima Karki, who received 572 votes.
A total of 1,289 delegates cast ballots in the office bearers election, down from 2,959 in the earlier central committee vote, a decline of 1,670 voters. The party’s general convention, which began on June 21, is set to conclude following the completion of the office bearers election.
