CHITWAN: Nisha Dangi was elected the female joint general secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party after securing 737 votes in the party’s office bearers election held in Bharatpur, Chitwan, on Friday.
A member of the House of Representatives from Jhapa, Dangi was previously elected to the party’s central committee. She has also served as an RSP proportional representation lawmaker and party whip.
The RSP has five joint general secretary positions. Elections were held for three posts, including one reserved for a woman, while the remaining two positions will be filled through nominations by the party chair.
