BAGDAD: Iraqi security forces have reportedly arrested several politicians, lawmakers, and senior government officials in Baghdad as part of an anti-corruption campaign ordered by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi.

Elite Counter Terrorism Service units carried out raids inside the Green Zone after judicial authorities issued arrest warrants targeting suspected corruption networks.

The operation follows the recent arrest of Deputy Oil Minister Adnan al-Jumaili, whose testimony reportedly implicated additional officials.

Some suspects are said to have fled before the raids, prompting authorities to seal entrances to the Green Zone and launch a wider search. No official statement has been issued, and the crackdown is expected to continue in the coming days.
