KATHMANDU: The German Embassy in Kathmandu has highlighted the progress of Nepal-Germany health cooperation, saying German Development Cooperation (GDC) continues to support the Government of Nepal in strengthening an inclusive, better-equipped and more responsive healthcare system.

According to the embassy, the partnership has helped expand the public health insurance system to 9.45 million people, rebuild earthquake-damaged district hospitals in Ramechhap, Jiri and Gorkha, support the 2025 HPV vaccination campaign, which achieved more than 90 percent coverage of its target group, and improve healthcare waste management at more than 13 partner hospitals.

The embassy said the next phase of cooperation will focus on health governance, digitalization of health systems, and quality assurance in medical laboratories and pharmaceutical production. It also thanked Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population for its continued partnership.
